MAMA LEAVES STRONG LEGACY

Mama Kosi just went home to be with our Lord. She was loved by so many in Kamala and raised 4 girls on her own to love Jesus too.

Funerals are very different here. The very day a person dies everyone comes to your home and cries with you. Then that day or maybe the next they bury the person.

Hundreds came to mama Kosi’s funeral. I was the only white face, but felt at home. We transported mama Kosi’s body in the back of one of the H of N vehicles. There was much singing and crying as we drove to the burial site. Afterwards 100’s of people went back to mama Kosi’s home and they stayed for one week! It is the custom to stay at the home of the deceased for 5-7 days. The people cry, eat, share stories etc. during that time. The family is then responsible to FEED all the people that are there. They take an offering to help but it is such a burden on the family. IF you do not attend some ones funeral it is believed that when you die your family will not be taken care of.

I had the opportunity to speak about Jesus Christ and HIS promise of Heaven if you follow HIM. I know Mama Kosi is in Heaven and we will see her again. She was an amazing woman of God. I will miss her.
